Restoring True Masculinity

My own spiritual journey and recovery has shown what true masculinity is all about. The character and integrity. Finding joy, since happiness requires right circumstances, means to come to a place of experiencing life - regardless of the good, bad, and those ugly moments.

Day 19 – Restoring Broken Fellowships

The reality is that restoring broken relationships, to be reconciled with others, is quite a difficult task for us to undertake. Yet, it is significantly important to the Gospel of Jesus Christ that we are humble, sincere, contrite, and motivated by the spirit and love of God to go forth with faith and purpose to seek reconciliation.

Day 17 – Fellow Travelers and Authentic Fellowship

The call for us to go forward with faith and purpose is also a call for us to gather in small groups. This is the reason for Sunday school classes, weeknight youth activities, scripture study groups like those for single adults studying the Old Testament. Men gathering together in fellowship. Women gathering together in fellowship. Doing so, we experience the presence of Christ because when we are gathered in His name - he is there in the midst with us (Matthew 18:20).

Day 14 – When God Seems Distant

The scriptures constantly teach us that we are to do two things. They also teach us two fundamental truths. First, we are to seek him continually. Despite what is going on, no matter the situation, the fears, the worries, the doubts, and the anxieties, we are to seek him. Second, we are to wait patiently. Listen attentively, tune in, and continue to walk in those truths and commandments we are to keep. And the first truth is that our answers come in the Lord's due time and not ours. The second fundamental truth is that this is where our faith in God rests.

Self-Compassion and Kindness Begins with Patience

For me, I had to learn to be patient toward myself because I realized there was much healing needed to take place. Healing because I had not realized that much of the reason for being impulsive, compulsive, seeking approval of others was due to my self-invisibility and survival mode that had brought much dissatisfaction within my own life. My self-esteem was quite low.

In His Perfect Timing

Nowhere in the scriptures does God promise me instant answers to my prayers. His promises for answered prayer are amazing and reassuring, but none of them includes a timetable. He only assures me that he is never too late. Yet in our impatience, we don't want an answer that is simply "not too late." I sometimes desire an immediate answer. I have needs and do not understand why those needs must be prolonged.

Blessed to endure all things

Being of Good Courage

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. ~ Psalm 27:14, KJV ~ As we deepen our commitment to a strong and mature Christian spiritual experience and life, we see a conflict between our old self and new way of living. When we drop our… Continue reading Being of Good Courage

The shield of our faith rests in God

Today's Reading: Genesis 15 - 16:16; Ps. 5:1-7; Prov. 2:6-9; Matthew 6:19-34 "Do not fear, for I am a shield unto you" One of the greatest, and simple, truths is this: Our very own lives do not belong to us. Our life belongs to the Sovereign God who created all things. It is too Him… Continue reading The shield of our faith rests in God
