“Let Them Have Dominion”

Through our discipleship we come to know the nature and truth of who our Heavenly Father is and what he expects of us. To which, the Savior declared, be ye therefore perfect as your Father in Heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48, Philippians 3:15-16; 3 Nephi 12:48). It means we are to be complete and full as it relates to Our Heavenly Father.

The Spiritual Discipline of a Mindful Christian

This psalm provides wisdom to change my attitudes. It shows the way out of the wilderness of misery and discontentment. Instead of affirming my areas of need, it turns my focus to those blessings I've already received. It tells me to acclaim Him, to verbally acknowledge who He is. When I do, His presence becomes a greater reality to me - greater than it once was, and greater than all of the sources of my dissatisfaction. Those who learn to acclaim Him learn the reality of the God of all sufficiency. In short, I become joyful and blessed.

For the love of God or the love of Money?

if our love moves from God to money and material gain - and we yield to the temptation of loving money more than loving God - we fall into various temptations and sin. We lose our very souls in the process.

Daily Praise and Worship

It is not merely enough to enter into the holy sanctuary of prayer and meditation. It is enriching when our prayer and meditation includes daily praise and worship. It is part of our spiritual growth and discipline in the Christian life. If we fail to engage in daily praise and worship, we fall prey to the cares and anxieties of this world. Fear and doubt becoming an all consuming fire.

Establishing Financial Security

Christ taught us that we are only capable of serving one master. Our love for money puts us at enmity with God. We are like Cain, making an afterthought offering and become jealous and enraged when other Christians are being blessed and secure because of their sacrifice and offerings were that of Abel. It is when we love God, we honor him of giving up a portion of our finances. It is the love of God that we are able to provide offerings to help those in need.
