Knowing that I am driven by my own internal impulses and reasoning, I am merely settling for second best. Even if such were shaped by years of discipleship, they are still subject to sin and deception. I can use them to God's glory, yet can't bring myself to trust them. I must always submit myself to the guiding mind of God and trust in His will and care for my welfare and spiritual well-being. I must trust in God fully and wholeheartedly.

Why am I a Mindful Christian?
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.~ Matthew 11:28-29 ~ One way we find peace in following Christ is in… Continue reading Why am I a Mindful Christian?
Rigorous Honesty in Recovery is Painful
There is an awakening that occurs in the heart and minds of every person who is suffering and perishing. Those who awaken to their awful condition and state of being see the destruction for what it really is. We see ourselves as unclean. Filthy. And, a great burden is on our back that weighs us down. As much as we do not want to face this truth – we must face it or continue to suffer and perish. This is where we find Christian. Faced with the reality of a coming destruction. The reality of the burden we bear.
Reconciled Unto a New Life
Through Christ, I am reconciled to my Heavenly Father because of His love toward me. When I was at enmity with him - God loved me enough to provide a way for me to come unto him through his Son Jesus Christ.
Fellowship with Grace and Compassion
The only help I am able to give is to offer grace and compassion. Pray for them. Pray for wisdom and guidance in how I may be able to comfort and support them. Listen and empathize with them. Sit with them in silence. We do not ever want to feel trapped.
Spiritual Detachment
True freedom comes as I lay down my old self and take up the cross. To walk daily in humility, gratitude, and submission to my Heavenly Father's will and desire. No other attempts have proven satisfying. With this freedom comes strength.
Empowering and Bold Courageous Faith Moves Mountains
I find such relaxed - and relaxing counsel - through my Heavenly Father's wisdom for just today. My reminder is to focus on just today and live through this day only. Not attempt to tackle all my problems at once. I am only able to do smaller things and focus on those smaller steps and not attempt to resolve all problems in one day.
Strong and Empowering Faith
I will attempt to clear out of my life and my mind all the destructive tools previously used. I know they do nothing to bring me to a life with peace of mind and experience an abundant and fruitful life in Christ. I will strive to learn to use the whole armor of God. I will strive to focus on being kind, patient, courteous, and show the love of Christ and our Heavenly Father. With a strong faith and determination, I will do what is necessary to improve my life.
The Beginning of Great Sorrows and Lamentations for American Liberty and Freedom
Studying Lamentations, mindfully and prayerfully, may not bring about easy answers to our season of sorrow and suffering. Yet, it will help us rest our faith in knowing that God will still meet us in the midst thereof. It teaches us the heart and contrite humble language of prayer. It does not offer easy answers, cliche's or inspiring quotes and messages for what we may be facing.
Find Enjoyment in Everyday Life
Do not waste your time grieving over the fact that your life may feel empty because of a lack of enjoyment. For, it is only joy that brings true authentic happiness that sustains us during times of despair and struggle. God did not create us to merely endure mortality. He gave us the ability to enjoy the life we have been given. This is what Christ meant when he promised us an abundant life (see John 10:10).
No One Owes You Anything
We establish unrealistic expectations on God and others to rescue us out of our predicaments. These unrealistic expectations turn into frustrations, disappointments, resentments, envy, and bitterness. It stifles the voice of God and our relationship. We inevitably create our own sufferings and prevent ourselves from moving beyond.
Theme of 2021 | Be of Good Cheer in the Midst of Tribulations
This is the reason I have chosen "Be of Good Cheer" as the theme for 2021 at Damascus Way Recovery. At some point in our lives, or at the present moment, many of us have experienced various tribulations. It is difficult to maintain a passionate and positive disposition where we are maintaining good spirits. We are not alone. Christ strengthens us, gives us the hope we need, and through our humility and submission to our Heavenly Father's divine grace and will. The burden of facing our sufferings will be lightened.
Being of Good Cheer Takes Courage and Resilient Bold Faith
Photo by Roberto Shumski on Pexels.com In the final days of His mortal life, Jesus Christ told His Apostles of the persecutions and hardships they would suffer. He concluded with this great assurance: “In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). That is the… Continue reading Being of Good Cheer Takes Courage and Resilient Bold Faith
