A double minded man is unstable in all his ways
~ James 1:8 ~
There is nothing easy or automatic about becoming such powerful disciples. Our focus must be riveted on the Savior and His gospel. It is mentally rigorous to strive to look unto Him in every thought But when we do, our doubts and fears flee.
~ Russell M. Nelson – Drawing the Power of Jesus Christ into Our Lives – April 2017 ~
Doubts and fears that I may not keep my faith is contrary to the teachings of scripture. Do I allow myself doubt that I’ll continue to grow in spirit and truth? Am I uneasy and jump to conclusions that I may never maintain an eternal perspective? Such an attitude cannot be concealed. My lack of confidence can do untold damages if I do not overcome my doubts and fears.
Each day I remind myself of the need of my Heavenly Father’s love and trust. Even if I should end up stumbling the infinite atonement provides a way for me to walk in forgiveness and repentance. Genuine Christian faith requires patience and compassion. I do not punish myself for any doubts or fears I may have.
I certainly will carefully guard my own faith. This gift from my Heavenly Father will express itself in a quiet, reasonable attitude, regardless of what may happen.
Today’s Prayer and Meditation
Heavenly Father, I pray that I may not fall into the error of anticipating trouble due to any fears and doubts I may hold. It troubles wend their way, let me meet them with equanimity and love. I turn my fears and doubts over to you and seek your wisdom daily. In Jesus Name, Amen.
