Wise Choices

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
~ James 3:17, KJV ~

~ JANUARY 5, 2020 DEVOTIONAL ~

God embedded into us moral agency – volition of will – where we make choices. The choices we make that are pleasing to our Heavenly Father, cause us to walk after the manner of Christ; we are blessed and enjoy a life of abundance Christ has promised us. However, if we make choices that are displeasing, we sow seeds of suffering, adversity, and produce a bitter harvest.

We encounter challenges through every day life. Choices will be made. Those choices will be made based on our thoughts, emotions, and actions that reflect the character and integrity of Christ. Either that, they reflect our weaknesses, fears, and discouragement. There are no exceptions when the choice is placed before us. When we choose the right, we rely on the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Our choices will have a significant and powerful spiritual influence and impact on our lives and those around us.

~ TODAY’S PRAYER AND MEDITATION ~

Heavenly Father, grant me the wisdom to make the right choices today. Guide me through the influence of your Holy Spirit as I continue my journey. Let my actions be pleasing unto, O’Lord, and work within me to conform me to the image of your Son. In Jesus Name, Amen.
