Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 10:31, KJV
Yes, God does have a plan for our lives. However, He expects us to do our fair share of the work in order to be presentable living sacrifices. While many, outside the Christian faith, live the following motto: Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die – we are called to a higher purpose and way of living. This higher purpose is to be spiritually mindful in our service. We live in a society where leisure, gluttony, and laziness is glorified and commercialized. Yet, God did not create us for this type of lifestyle. He has far greater purposes for us.
Like the story of Hercules choice between the two women; there are two distinct pathways that present themselves to us. The one is vice and the other is virtue. Vice offers us the things of the world. Temptations of pleasure. Vice also offers us a way of living life where we are led into a false belief that hard work and labor is a burden. Whereas, Virtue offers us truth. The road is steep, hard work, and full of mountain tops and deep and dark valleys.

Temptation of pleasure is all around us. It is easy to fall into the trappings of unhealthy choices. Our challenge is to work on resisting these unhealthy urges. Through mindful prayer and meditation, we seek God’s wise counsel and help. It is our duty to live out each day mindfully in service toward God. Herein lies the key to having a significant spiritual impact and influence on our lives.
~ TODAY’S PRAYER AND MEDITATION ~
Heavenly Father, all that I am belongs to you. I am your hands and your will as I serve you with all my heart, might, mind, and soul. Assist me in honoring you through the care and well-being of my body. For it is the temple of your Holy Spirit. Guide me and strengthen me to resist temptation and endure today and throughout the rest of this year.
