~ JANUARY 1, 2020 DEVOTION ~

We all desire the abundance and success God has promised.

The first principle of a spiritual life that is influential and impacting is faith: Faith in God, faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, and faith in His eternal promises. It is when we surrender ourselves over to God’s divine and sovereign grace that our faith is rewarded. Sometimes, in ways we may scarcely begin to understand. However, if we seek to rely solely on our clouded vision and limited understanding; or, our own resources outside the boundaries of God’s divine commandments: We reap a bitter harvest for ourselves and our lives.

Faith in God means we trust in God every day we live and breath. As we entrust ourselves over to His care and guiding counsel, we are blessed and assured that we are secure for today and for all eternity.

~ TODAY’S PRAYER AND MEDITATION ~

Heavenly Father, as I face those dark moments in life, where feelings of disappointment, shame, guilt, and discouragement, burden me – help me to remember your promise of being near to me. Help me face the challenges this day. Keep me mindful of your unending love and power in order for me to live wisely and courageously with faith today and every day this coming year.
