Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
~ Ephesiahs 6:10-18, KJV ~
Putting on the whole armor of God isn’t something you do once and forget about, and you can’t just put on your breastplate of righteousness and leave the rest of it behind. You must put on the whole armor and do what’s necessary to keep every piece on. Otherwise you’ll be vulnerable to temptation and won’t be able to withstand the evils of the world.
~ Putting on the Whole Armor of God ~
Since entering into the empowering and abundant life that is offered through Jesus Christ, I learn that a frank and honest look at my way of handling situations in life may suddenly show me that I possess, and use, a whole armory of weapons. They are the same weapons used by other people who commit their lives and will over to God. Using a strident voice of authority faithfully, navigating the mine field of temptation, and putting my own self-righteousness away. The weapon of a bold and courageous faith kill any attempt to thwart the adversary’s plan to keep me from the strait and narrow path of spiritual growth. These weapons are not only meant for my protection, they are meant for utilization to engage in the spiritual warfare that prevents me from living in peace and being of good cheer.
The enemy is set to destroy my desire to find a better way of living. The adversary is intent on killing any Godly love and respect toward my Heavenly Father and others. The enemies weapon is meant to increase any unbearable guilt and destroy us if we turn from using weapons of righteousness.
I will attempt to clear out of my life and my mind all the destructive tools previously used. I know they do nothing to bring me to a life with peace of mind and experience an abundant and fruitful life in Christ. I will strive to learn to use the whole armor of God. I will strive to focus on being kind, patient, courteous, and show the love of Christ and our Heavenly Father. With a strong faith and determination, I will do what is necessary to improve my life.
Today’s Prayer and Meditation
Heavenly Father, you are full of goodness, wisdom, and provide for my needs. This includes the necessary weapons of faith to face my struggles and temptations in life in order to overcome as Christ has overcame the world. May I be able to use them and remember to daily put on the full armor. Amen
