Through Godly Wisdom We Face Daily Struggles

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
~Romans 12:1-2, KJV ~

The Christian alternative to immoral behaviors is not a new list of moral behaviors. It is the triumphant power and transformation of the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ — our Savior, our Lord, our Treasure. “[God] has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life” (2 Corinthians 3:6). So transformation is a profound, blood-bought, Spirit-wrought change from the inside out.
~ Desiring God – The Renewed Mind and How to Have it – John Piper ~

When we came to believe in Jesus Christ, submitted our lives, will, and care over to Him, we may have led ourselves to believe that all our problems may be solved. This is an illusion. Christ’s infinite atonement and redemption of our souls is only the beginning and not the goal. It is the first step toward building a resilient, courageous, and bold faith in the Christian life. It is the first step in growing and maturing in a strong spiritual giant. We must give ourselves over to the necessary work of transforming our lives by renewing our minds on the will of God each and every day. This triumphant power springs from the power and gift of the Holy Spirit.

There are going to be emotional conflicts we have to deal with every day. Our relationships will have significant impact. How we view life and all things around is will take on whole new meanings. Yet, if we remain at a standstill expecting our problems sufferings will miraculously disappear we will experience disappointment and resentment toward God.

Our struggles every day will take on whole new forms because they stem from our decisions and behaviors. This is because of our personality flaws and mindsets that caused irrational reactions. Even if we conquer one aspect of our struggles, there is still much to learn and overcome as part of adjusting to the faithful and mindful spiritually enriching Christian life.

Today, I will not delude myself into thinking that being a Christian is merely the sole goal of coming to accept Christ as my Savior and Redeemer. I will deal with each problem that comes to me with the help of Godly wisdom, insight, and discipline. I will align myself with those who are seasoned in their lives as faithful and spiritually enriched Christians to help me grow and nurture my own spiritual growth.

Today’s Prayer and Meditation

Heavenly Father, I pray for wisdom to take a rational and tolerant attitude toward whatever troubles I must face each day. Strengthen me as I continue to transform my life through the renewing of my mind on your will and desire. In Jesus Name, Amen
