Do Not Let Your Heart, Mind, and Soul Worry

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
~ 1 Peter 5:6-11, KJV ~

When you see God, you realize how small you are and how insignificant and ridiculous your problems actually are. Before you cast all your care on Him, worrying and anxiety ate up your energy and initiative, but now a new energy fills you with a desire to get up and serve. You find you are no longer driven and plagued by your own thoughts. The yoke of anxiety has been broken in your own life, so that you can also help set others free and bring comfort to suffering souls. Then your light will dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday. (Isaiah 58:10)
~ Active Christianity – Cast all your care upon God ~

When will I realize that I need not permit myself to be anxious, worried, or standing in fear? The behavior of others may attempt to confuse my life and destroy my peace of mind. When will I learn that there is no reason I need to accept those forces of humiliation, uncertainty, and despair? I may have accepted it because I am not casting my cares upon my Heavenly Father and act in a manner that appears to be of a martyr. The natural tendency is to secretly relish in the feeling of victim-hood and feeling sorry for myself – seeking out sympathy from others.

I am free, through Jesus Christ, from any situation that may interfere with my spiritual joy and living a mindful Christian life. We all are empowered to live without fear, uncertainty, and discomfort. With Christ, I take a firm stand and hold fast to whatever decision I make that blesses my life and brings me greater joy. Through Christ, I not only help myself, I also help those around me – including those who are suffering as much as I have suffered. Only constant wavering may hinder me from breaking out of my irrational and fearful thought patterns.

Today’s Prayer and Meditation

Heavenly Father, through you I no longer have a spirit of fear. I cast all my present thoughts of concern, worry, fear, and uncertainty unto you. Through Jesus Christ, I know I am strengthened, refreshed, and guided by eternal grace and wisdom. In Jesus Name, Amen
