In the final days of His mortal life, Jesus Christ told His Apostles of the persecutions and hardships they would suffer. He concluded with this great assurance: “In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). That is the Savior’s message to all of our Heavenly Father’s children. That is the ultimate good news for each of us in our mortal lives
“Be of good cheer” was also a needed assurance in the world into which the resurrected Christ sent His Apostles. “We are troubled on every side,” the Apostle Paul later told the Corinthians, “yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed” (2 Corinthians 4:8–9).
Be of Good Cheer

People are looking forward to making a fresh start. New changes. Establishing resolutions. Revisiting and setting new goals. It is book of clean and blank pages with which we will write our record of experiences and growth. Today, we are living with increasing despair. Constant political upheavals. Religious freedom is being challenged more today than ever. Tribulation and hardships increase. Most of us have closed the door on 2020 and are hoping to embrace a new year with 2021 upon us.
Throughout my own personal life, I have journeyed into understanding true spiritual mindfulness of living a Christ-centered life. Focusing more on the way Jesus lived his life and taught those around him. Meditating daily on the principle truths of the Gospel message. This led to developing a new perspective on what it means to live with great courage, bold and resilient faith, and to be of good cheer during these times where spiritual darkness seems to fall upon all of us.
Through the daily spiritual disciplines of meditating upon the scriptures, engaged in mindful prayer, and aligning my life with true spiritual worship toward my Heavenly Father; I have discovered that resilient faith is based on the joy I have through Jesus Christ. Today, marks a day of new beginnings. A fresh start. Being of good cheer means I am allowing myself to fully hear the voice of God and receive personal revelation.
When I apply the simple principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ I gained faith and courage to face my own adversities and problems in life. Daily managing and mindfully applying ways to change my thoughts. Understand the powerful influence doubt, fear, and worry have over my own motivation to live each day.

Today, I remind myself that it is important to take one day at a time. Sometimes taking each moment at time and maintain a present focus. This comes through the personal (and empowering) realization that through Jesus Christ, I have the power and authority to manage and maintain a cheerful disposition with great courage and bold and resilient faith.
All that is required of me is mindfully listen to the Spirit as he guides me into the ways of all truth and understanding.
Today’s Prayer and Meditation
Heavenly Father, I realize that through your son, Jesus Christ, I am able to overcome as he has overcame the adversities of the world. I lean unto you for wisdom and spiritual counsel in my daily life. I ask for your guidance every moment. Remind me not to stand in fear and doubt. Help me face my struggles with great joy, courage, and bold faith. I strive to bring my troubles, fears, and doubts to you as I faithfully follow your will and not my own. Show me the way I must go in Jesus name, Amen!
