Being Still and Calm

Be still, and know that I am God
~Psalm 46:10, KJV ~

It is not enough to pray and then head out to face the day. The Scriptures encourage us to take time to pray and meditate. Most Christians today seemed to feel that meditation is a foreign aspect of worship. A tool that is not a discipline of the Christian faith. Yet, the Psalmist calls for us to be still. To quiet the mind of all hostilities and thoughts that seem to run their course. Be still encourages us to slow down, breath deeply, and bring ourselves into a state of calm.

Through this stillness, we are opening ourselves up to personal and divine revelation and guidance. We communicate with the divine and receive instruction. Godly wisdom and counsel. Through stillness we come to know that God is in control and we graciously surrender ourselves over to him. This includes meditating on His word day and night.

~ Today’s Prayer and Meditation ~

Heavenly Father, it is in this quiet moment that I seek after thy counsel and wisdom. I turn my thoughts over to you and continue to meditate upon thy words. Let me be still and calm my thoughts as I reflect on your wisdom, grace, and truth. For it is in the stillness and quietness that you speak through the Holy Spirit. In Jesus Name, Amen.

  1. Delivered, while in them, what? Yes from Father’s view, yes we are, we just do not see it, Father does

therefore I see what is said in Col. 1:21-23
    Thanks Brother
