With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men
~ Ephesians 6:7, KJV ~
True discipleship is not about our relationship with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Our true discipleship rests on the simple truth of service. We cannot serve God if we are not in the service of our fellow neighbors. Not just those who come to Church – we must actively seek out ways to serve those around us.
We are called to follow in the footsteps of the Savior. He is our example of living a life with meaning and purpose. He is our example of surrender and obedience to God’s will. He is our example by which we are to minister to one another. This is no ordinary discipleship program. It is a program to show kindness, mercy, grace, and compassion. What does it mean to be in service?

We learn true wisdom as it is connected to the service we preform toward others. We are called to serve in God’s Kingdom. We are called to serve in our relationships. Our sacrifice of time and energy to help others is a sweet fragrance that ascends Heaven ward. It is pleasing to the Lord when we serve.
The Savior not only taught us ways we are empowered to serve, he showed us in the manner in which we are to serve one another. And, this service we preform is not for any temporal gain. It is not for any recognition. It is not for any prize to be won. It is us reaching out and serving others as if Christ himself is serving them. For, it is not us who serves, it is Christ and the Holy Spirit that guides us toward serving. And, this service is preformed out of deep love for others.
Today, reflect on ways you are empowered to serve. Who do you know that needs service? How are you able to minister to those in need?
~ Today’s Prayer and Meditation ~
Heavenly Father, you have called me into fellowship with you through your Son, Jesus Christ. Help me honor you by seeking out ways to minister in thy name and through thy spirit. Give me the strength to reach out with kindness, mercy, grace, and compassion. As Christ walked in ministry serving others, help me walk in His footsteps of service. Through my kindness, compassion, and grace may it be a reflection of your sovereign Grace that draws those I serve unto you. In Christ’s holy name, Amen.
Father, you by Son’s done work for us, we get new life given us from you to do or not do as you lead, not me, or others, Thank you
I put what is behind me, behind me, trusting I am and remain forgiven, by the King, and see to learn from and move forward, in the trust fund given me.
The risen Son Jesus Christ, Yahuwah Ha’ Mashiach, in the Rauch Ha’ Kadesh
Learning this as I do not do it myself, only God does and has and will do it,
Even though I want to do it, if I can, then would I need God?
