~ June 23, 2020 – Morning Devotion ~
Christ was emphatically clear when he declared to his disciples – If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me (see, Matthew 16:24 and Luke 9:23). Christ himself was tortured and endured the cross. This imagery teaches us that we are to come before God with all sincerity and humility and deny ourselves. A daily process where we place our trust and faith into God. It is a message of hope and faith. When we deny ourselves and trust in God, we are empowered to walk humbly with him and act justly, and to love with mercy. This is the sign of a true disciple.
Our duty first to God. To love him and worship him. Our second duty is to love others. This is the new and everlasting commandment:
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
John 13:34-35, KJV
Our desire is to seek to become a worthy disciple. That occurs when we come to that place of humility and give of ourselves toward God in sweet surrender and love. We take up our cross daily and walk in mercy and grace. Love toward God. Love toward others. By this – men may know we are true and worthy disciples of Jesus Christ.
~ Today’s Prayer and Meditation ~
Heavenly Father, thank you for the infinite atonement through your Son, Jesus Christ. Let me become a worthy disciple of Him, and let me walk in gratitude and love each day. I submit myself to your care with all humility and sincerity. I give thanks for your love, grace, and mercy. Amen.
To submit to God is: being willing to be made new in his Love for us, known today through Son. That one time sacrifice, satisfied Father forever toward us. To see us as forgiven as if one has not sinned against him.
Read it Col. 1:21-23, what is done, then read it again from verse 1
Amazing Grace this is, to us all. Does that mean we are made to not have any more troubles?
Actually, I see we are made new, with a new mindset view, From Father and Son vantage point
Psalms 103:12 ALL Sin is taken away today as far as the east is from the west, is exactly what David saw and wrote before that day ever came.
A witness to this truth is Job 19:25 also. Wow woe is me as in Isaiah 6:1-6
Father thank you, Jesus thank you, the two are made as Won (One) for us to be this too.
You are amazing in listening Brother, Father is doing it through you
