Fight the Good Fight

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

~ 2 Timothy 4:7, ESV ~

Our innate desire to control may lead us to an overemphasis on achieving certain outcomes. This may be related to our need for competitiveness and belief that winning is everything. No matter how we may play the game. We desire great honor, fame, and maybe even great wealth – no matter the cost in how one lives their life. Because of this, we develop problems within our lives that diminish the spiritual connection with our Heavenly Father and with others. Mainly because of our narrow focus on performance and achieving some euphoric experiences of happiness – rather than on the joy of living a mindful and spiritual life.

As our integrity grows, our emphasis changes. We no longer compete to right, have the need to control, or become competitive. Our personal spiritual awakening and revival no longer rests on being a winner or high achiever. Rather, we begin to experience what it truly means to be human, and live authentically. The spiritual outlook no longer rests on personal conquests. Our personal spiritual outlook rests on the connection we have with our Heavenly Father and those around us. We no longer need to compare ourselves to other people. We grow in knowing that as we progress in our faith, grow in our own spiritual way, we will ultimately reach the crown of glory that is awaiting us.

Today, let us grow in our relationship with others b being more true to self and less driven toward particular outcomes. Let us keep the faith and fight the good fight.
