Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
~ 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, ESV ~
Self-care is a spiritual practice we want to engage in. Philo Judeaus says: The body is the soul’s house. Shouldn’t we therefore take care of our house so that it doesn’t fall into ruin. It is a spiritual practice as we begin working on increasing our overall health and wellness. We end abusive cycles when we begin to engage in self-care.
Recovery and spiritual awakening involves the mind, body, and soul. This means we begin to move toward healthy eating, exercising, resting and getting adequate sleep. We also attend to our routine medical and dental appointments to gauge our overall health and wellness.
By treating ourselves as worthwhile, through physical and nutritional wellness, we begin to feel energetic, have some direction in how to guide our own personal spiritual growth and recovery. Spiritual growth and maturation increases when we engage in self-respecting and self-care.

It is well to be aware of being in good health or not, remembering this below
2 Corinthians 4:16 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
