“If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
~ John 8:31-32, ESV ~
Our perception of truth deepens through God’s sovereign grace. It brought us to face the reality of our present situation. We became honest and relinquished our life and will over to His care. It now secures us as we abide in Him. Through Him, we have freedom and liberty.
Working a spiritual and mindful program requires consistent honesty. This is based on our own humility in seeking to walk and abide in God’s grace each day. Truth reveals to us who we are. Reveals to us our need for forgiveness. Reveals to us the character flaws and defects that we must work through. We are given the courage to walk in light and truth, so long as we focus on our relationship with God.
Truth brings us to the reality of our own pain and suffering, the harm we have caused others, and the harm we have caused ourselves. Yet, through this, we gain freedom and liberty from those chains that had us bound. Through Christ, we are set free and are no longer slaves.
