Increase our faith O Lord!

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”

~ Luke 17:5 ~

We are tasked to grow and mature in life. This requires taking necessary risks. If we want our Heavenly Father to increase our faith, then we need to be willing to take those spiritual risks in obeying Him. Our faith only grows when we take the necessary action. If we avoid walking in obedience to Him, we avoid taking those risks that bring the necessary blessings into our own lives. Our spiritual identity and growth withers and we become stagnant, lacking faith, lacking confidence, and lacking the ability to trust in God. 

Fear is the great hindrance to our spiritual growth and ability to walk in obedience to God’s will and desire. We fear the outcome. The uncertainty. However, if we are wanting to increase our faith, then we are wanting to put aside our fears. Our confidence and trust grows along with our faith. We become strengthened in the Lord. We become spiritually mature through the increase of our faith.

Yet, one of the greatest promises is that when we step out in faith – God is faithful and just to give us the strength and ability to fulfill His will. This is where we grow and strengthen our spiritual life.
