Do not be of an anxious mind

I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?

~ Matthew 6:26-27 ~

Nature confronts us when we are aware and mindful. God calls us to not be anxious for our own life. When we come to fully trust in Him. Surrender our life and will over to His divine sovereign care. He will ensure that our needs will be met. This is because we are His greatest creation. Through His divine providence, He blessed us with the ability to care for all others.

This wildness of nature that is around us renews us because we not only interact with it, we are part of it. We move beyond merely appreciating the beauty around us. We are part of that beauty. And God saw that it was very good.

When we come to appreciate the beauty of nature, we also come to appreciate the beauty of who we are in God. His pleasure is for us to realize our value and worth. Are you not of more value than they? It is when we are able to see our worth, understand the nature of God, and His divine love for us, that we rest in knowing our own needs will be met.

Our life, in Christ, is much more than food. Much more than the clothing we wear. It is the divine and intimate relationship we come to appreciate and know.
