Being mindful and receptive

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control

2 Timothy 1:7, ESV ~

Recovery is a process of growth. This growth comes from our relationship with God. The moment we decided to give our life and will over to Heavenly Father, is the very moment we experience a new birth. We came to a place of being open and receptive to the spiritual message of our own depravity. It is as if we awaken from a deep sleep. A deep sleep of our own personal hell. Realizing we are bound by awful chains that have brought us to a place of misery.

As we shake off those chains that have bound us, we are renewed in our spirit. Our Heavenly Father graciously gives us a new heart, a new spirit, and power of love and self-control. Our relationship with God requires us to be mindful and receptive. We continue to remain receptive and open to personal spiritual messages that come through His word, through those who continue to pursue after Him. Our relationship with God grows deeper and enriches us.

Let us continue to be receptive to His divine will. Breathe in the beauty and pain of life, opening our eyes and ears to see and hear what is happening around us. Through our experiences, we acknowledge the messages hidden within and accept the reality of how they sometimes do not fit within our own finite mind.
