Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity,
~ Titus 2:7, ESV ~
When we were under bondage of our substance use, we exhibited character defects of manipulation. Hiding our substance use from family and friends. Even attempting to walk in the illusion we are hiding our character defects from God. However, God is sovereign, and ever watching.
If we sincerely given ourselves, our very lives, and our very volition over to the care of a Sovereign, merciful, and divine Heavenly Father; then we must seek, to the best of our ability, in following His will and desire. Recovery requires obedience to those things that will mold and shape us into a new person. An individual whose character defects become strengths. When we walk in the light of Christ, our character will evolve as we do not have to continually look over our shoulder to see who, besides God, is watching.
We become a tree planted, that beareth much fruit, because by their fruit, you shall know them (see, Matthew 7:15-20). By our behavior, molded and fashioned through our journey and transformation, people will know our good character. We do not have to proclaim it.
Your Daily Recovery Walk through Proverbs
~ Proverbs 10:9 ~
Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,
but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.
I think when we don’t walk straight in our Christian walk, we seem to not walk with the same confidence, because we are divided. God didn’t go anywhere, but we did.

Definitely agree. It’s a good reminder that no matter how far we may steer off course, we are promised that when we turn and draw near to God he will draw near to us.
