A Right Way of Living

So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the name of the Lord from a pure heart

~ 2 Timothy 2:22, ESV ~

Making one’s journey through recovery requires a right way of living. A true pilgrimage through the process is one where an individual strives to be faithful to their established values and beliefs. It begins with being honest with self. There is learned discipline from the early stages of recovery, and, throughout the entire life of an individual. A deep love for self where kindness, generosity, humility, and gratitude blossoms. These are only a few characteristic qualities a person discovers. Not only discovers, to live out daily for the rest of their life.

Jesus Christ is an example of a right way of living. If we strive to follow the steps of our Master, we seek to live according to His established teachings. This is done in the accordance of our own abilities. As we make our efforts to live by those principles contained within Holy Writ, we become empowered to be examples to our families and friends. We reap the blessings of Sovereignty. Our own personal journey through recovery becomes a right way of living life.

God’s grace is sufficient for us each day as we strive toward a meaningful life. A life free from the enslavement of substance use. It is through His grace that we are saved on a continual basis from the dark abyss of our previous life. And, it is after all we are capable of doing to bring ourselves back into a right way of living life through our reconciliation with a sovereign and supreme God.
